Continue Story (I copy and paste from internet) - Chapter 22 - 'HE KNEW EACH TEAR BEFORE IT CAME – HERMIONE AND GEORGE'

CHAPTER 22

Later that night, Hermione sat outside and looked up at the stars. With Voldemort dead and gone, there was no worry about anything really. She sat there alone as tears fell from her eyes. She just kept thinking about how George was leaving her behind like Ron had done. Maybe he wouldn’t break up with her but with Ron and Malfoy there with her, he probably will. She was so lost in thought that she didn’t hear anyone walk up behind her until they sat down next to her. Hermione looked over at the silhouette of Harry as she let out a sigh and rubbed at her eyes.

“It’s OK Herms,” Harry said as he put his arm around her shoulders. She leaned her head on his shoulder and cried. “Everything’s going to be fine. George isn’t going to break up with you or anything. He’s really worried about you now though. You’ve been out here for two hours just sitting here. He wanted to come and help you feel better but he didn’t. He thought that maybe you needed time alone. Once an hour passed and you still didn’t come in, Fred was restraining him from coming to talk to you about it because we all thought you needed time alone. Then two hours hit and they sent me out to talk to you.”

Hermione looked at Harry again and then looked down at her hands. She let out a sigh and felt everything inside her go numb again like it had earlier. Her head was spinning and she felt as if she was just going to drop and pass out or something. She took in a deep breath of air and looked up at the sky again as tears rolled down her cheeks. She ran a hand through her hair as a shiver ran up her spine. She had just realized that before dinner, she had taken off George’s hoodie and it was on her bed. Harry looked at her and stood up. He took her hand, helped her up, and then led her into the warm kitchen. George ran over to her and pulled her into a massive hug. When he finally let go, Hermione turned and ran up the stairs and into her room. She wanted to be anywhere but there at the moment. She knew that George didn’t understand what was going on just then and that he probably wanted to know but she didn’t even know how she was going to tell him how she felt. George turned to run after her when she ran but Harry had gripped onto his arm and pulled him back.

“What are you doing Harry?” he asked. “She needs me right now.”

“She needs to be alone right now,” Harry replied as he looked over at all the others who were nodding. Ron stood up and walked over to Harry and George.

“Harry and I have known her for so long that we know everything about her,” Ron said. “If anything, she’ll want to talk to me and Harry.”

George shot his brother a nasty look and then looked at Harry. “I want to be the one that she can run to, to talk to when it involves me!”

Ginny stood up and walked in between George, Ron, and Harry. She stared at George and everyone watched him shrink back. She gave him the angriest look and crossed her arms in front of her just like Mrs. Weasley would when she was angry at Fred and George. “You leave Ron alone George,” she said angrily.

George took a step forward and looked down at his little sister. “And why should I?” he replied.

Ginny didn’t back down like George had expected her too. She actually straightened up a little bit and stepped forward looking up at her brother. “BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW A GIRL’S MIND WORKS!” she yelled. George shrunk down a little bit and started to back up. “You have no idea what she is thinking right now and the only person who really knows what she is thinking and how she is feeling is ME! Harry and Ron are right at the fact that she will want to talk to them but she probably wants to talk to me too and I know when to give her space because she will not want to talk to you idiots at all for a little bit.” Ginny turned around and walked over to the window that looked out onto the front yard of the Burrow. She bit her lip and sniffled slightly. No one had noticed but they all looked at her. “I’m the only one in this room who knows how bad it feels to know that someone is going to leave you somewhere when you don’t want them too because you’ve been through a lot with them.” Ginny turned to face George with an even angrier expression, but her eyes didn’t show anger. They showed pain as she remembered exactly what Hermione was feeling. She didn’t dare look at Harry because the two of them didn’t get back together right away because of all the Death Eaters that hadn’t been caught yet that were probably after him still. She stared at her older brother and sighed. “You have no idea how she feels and you never will until you have to be put in that position. None of you will.” She whispered that last part so that no one would hear her. She bit her lip and then started to walk towards the stairs. “You all better leave her alone for about a half hour because she probably doesn’t want you all to help her unless she wants to be which she probably doesn’t want you to right now. She’ll come to you. And if she doesn’t in a half hour, then you can go to her.” With that, Ginny ran up the steps and into her room. As she reached her room, she plopped down on her bed and heard crying in the room next to hers. She looked up at the ceiling and felt her heart break as she felt the tears she had been holding back spill from her eyes.
