CHAPTER 14

Halloween was certainly a interesting and fun day to come. The last day of October ought to be enjoyed of course. The Great Hall was coated with beautiful objects. Pumpkins and bats were placed magnificently, shining gold and silver confetti blew about. White snowflakes gently fell from the enchanted sky, showering students with them.

Hermione and Draco had to help to prepare for the activities to occur. At six they woke planning for the circumstances for that night.

“Malfoy you’re doing it all wrong!” Hermione yelled for the umpteenth time that morning. They didn’t have classes that day due to their Head duties of course. Malfoy was exceptionally glad to hear the news. “Tell me what I am doing wrong now?” Malfoy asked sneering. Hermione was very hard to please. Everything had to be in the best order and in tip top shape. Hagrid already had most of the larger things covered, the only thing that was missing was the Hogwarts students and food. Hermione started off again telling Malfoy how to do this and that.

He replied too by rolling his eyes.

“Honestly it seems like you don’t care!” Hermione said.

“Honestly woman, I really don’t.” Malfoy retorted. It was three o’clock when they finished their exhausting job. They flopped onto the ground weary by the day’s work.

“Alright see you there.” Hermione mumbled, about to go get ready. The Halloween dinner was actually to be a Halloween ball. It is going to be a surprise. Both Headboy and Headgirl was informed merely an hour ago of this piece of news.

“Granger you do remember what McGonagall said right?” “Was I that part about us standing guard together?” Malfoy shook his head meaning no. “No, the part was where we have to dance every few minutes or so?” Hermione raised her eyebrows in disbelief. She didn’t recall that part at all. But she really wasn’t paying attention to the Headmistress so she really didn’t know.

“It can’t be.” Hermione murmured, groaning. “It is.” Malfoy answered. Than thinking or is it? Patting him mentally, thinking this was the perfect plan. Of course McGonagall said no suck thing of them dancing together. She knew very well that Hermione and Draco loathed each other very much indeed.

Or did they?

Three hours later Hermione emerged out dressed in her formal dress robes. Draco stepped out in the same time wearing his. His was delicate green color. This matched his superior Slytherin pride perfectly. They glanced at each other briefly, noticing that each looked good. With one quick step Draco needed towards the Great Hall for the Halloween feast. Hermione was trailing right behind him.

Already many people were seated awaiting the night to unravel. This was one free nigh where you can seat whichever table you want. Instead of the House tables, there were rounded tables just like OW.L.S. Year. As a replacement for of exams lay on the tables, there was delicious looking food. An hour passed, than two. Finally McGonagall stood up to announce the surprise.
