CHAPTER 11
Professor McGonagall opened the compartment door.
“Mr Malfoy is up the top end of the train.” She said, suspiciously eyeing up Hermione, who was now crying on Ron’s shoulder. “You can go if you like Miss Granger, but I warn you, you must be wary…”
“I don’t think he wants to kill me Professor.” Hermione looked up, red eyed. Cho uttered a small gasp at Hermiones cheek.
“He is still a Death Eater.” McGonagall raised her eyebrow.
“He wanted to save me!” Hermione snapped crossly. She got up and pushed past McGonagall out onto the corridor. The train rocked slowly under her feet. She felt so tired. She felt she had been fighting a losing battle all day, like the whole World was against her and her lover. She wished for a miracle, but none came. Hermione made her way slowly down to the end of the corridor. Outside the furthest one away, stood Pansy, Theodora and Serissa. They started singing at once.
“Granger, Granger, filthy Mudblood Granger, can’t keep a lid on her boyfriends either!”
Hermione felt her anger gather inside her. Before she could stop herself, she turned to Pansy and hit her. Pansy stumbled backwards, clutching her cheek were Hermione had slapped her. A few people were again looking out of their compartments and cheered Hermione. She turned round again and knocked on the compartment door.
“Draco, are…are you in there? It’s me. Hermione.”
The door slid open slowly. Draco was sitting on the seat nearest the window, staring out at the black sky.
“Hi.” Hermione said slowly. He looked up at her slightly. He could tell she was nervous.
“I just couldn’t bare to see you go.” He said, “I want to be with you, always.” Hermione bit her lip, then rushed into his arms, crying again.
