Continue story (I copy and paste from internet) – Chapter 5 - 'SAYING GOODBYE IS THE HARDEST THING (DRACO/HERMIONE)’

CHAPTER 5

Draco spun round to see Lord Voldemort standing by the door, a pleased grin on his face. Draco felt neither afraid or worried. Voldemort had already as good as killed Hermione. Why didn’t he kill Draco now as well? Get it over with? Then, when Mrs Weasley decided to bombard the door down, she would only find two dead teenagers, lying side by side, hand in hand.

“Kill me then!” Draco was almost daring him to do it.

“But why waste your life Draco? Why through it all away? I can save her, I can help her, if only you’d come back to the Dark Side…” Voldemort was still wearing his smug grin.

“I’ll never come back!” Draco glared at him, “Not unless…”

“Well, Draco,” Voldemort continued, taking his wand out, “I’ll going to have to kill you, if you don’t decide…” Voldemort raised his wand. Draco shot a look at Hermione. She was dying. She would die, without help, she was a goner. Draco now looked up at Voldemort, and nodded. Voldemort smiled.

There was a flash of light and Draco felt himself getting weaker. He forte the urge inside him that was trying to get him to give up, but it was too strong. He fell onto the bed, exhausted.

When Draco finally woke up, he was still in Hermiones room, not on the same bed, as he’d remembered, but in a different one with Ginny peering at him.

She gave a sudden sheik and ran out of the room yelling, “HE LIVES! HE LIVES! HARRY, RON, DRACO’S ALIVE! MUM, DAD, COME QUICK!”

Draco sat up. He looked hopefully over at Hermione. She was still unconscious. He noticed the door had gone from her room and within seconds, people flooded in through the archway, rushing immediately to the side of his bed.

“How are you Draco?” Ginny asked, “We were all so worried!”

“I’m fine.” Draco said.

“You’d been in there for about four days, and you weren’t talking to us at all.” Harry explained.

“Yeah. Mum decided to break the door down.” Ron laughed.

Harry laughed to. “We came in, and well, Ginny screamed. She thought you dead, and then, came up with all these rumours that you’d probably poisoned yourself.” Ginny blushed.

“She’s seen too many Muggle reality shows!” Fred said, “But then Dad found a note pinned to the door…” George, who was also beside the bed fumbled around in his pocket. He read aloud.

“He said:

Dear helpless mortals…” (Ron snorted)

“The reason that Draco is dead is all down to me, Lord Voldemort. The stupid boy put up a fight in vain to save his beloved Hermione, so on and so on, I had no choice. But bare in mind, even if he does not die as I’ve planned, the girl will be next, you can count on that!

Yours sincerely,

The Dark Lord
Lord Voldemort
You-know-who
He-who-must-not-be-named
Tom Marverlo Riddle.”

George finished, slipping the note back into his pocket, “Stupid prat!” Draco looked stunned for a moment, then said, “Hermiones dead?”

“No.” Fred pulled a face but Harry shot a nervous look at Ron.

“Well, she is…d.. dying…you, know.” Ron said slowly.

“That’s a lie!” Draco snapped, not sure whether he believed his own words himself, “She can’t die.” His voice had become shaky and he blinked away tears, unable to think of the deal he had made with Voldemort.

“Sorry, mate.” Ron said, “But it’ll be a miracle if she pulls through.”

“Right c’mon. Let him rest guys. I’m sure he must be stressed out enough without you lot aggravating him.” Mrs Weasley had made her way over; George was rolling his eyes now and doing a silent impression of her yapping on to them. Ginny laughed.
