CHAPTER 18

Hermione, Harry and Ron had waited outside the Room of Requirement for him all break and were only to glad when he emerged. However, tears stained his pale checks, his eyes were no longer alive as they had been earlier. Hermione cast an anxious glance after him and hurried up quickly, and her, Harry and Ron followed him down to the lake.

“Draco?” Hermione sat down next to him, “You OK?”

He looked at her, then stared back at the lake.

“That snake of Voldemorts was there,” he said quietly, “And Pansy knows the truth about my sister…”

“Draco, you don’t have a sister.” Hermione said, rather worried.

“I did.” He replied grimly, “She died when she was five, Chloe.”

“What happened?”

“I was seven.” Draco said slowly, “Chloe was five and there was a huge house fire. Pansy’s mum, Abrail, was to blame. She considered herself The Dark Lords truest and most loyal servant. When everyone thought Voldemort was dead after he failed to kill Harry, he was still out there, seeking out more followers. Abrail told him about our family, he came, demanding we go to The Dark Side. Farther refused, so he told Abrail to set the house alit, hoping we’d all die. Mum got me out of my room, but she forgot Chloe was asleep and left her there in the flames. By the time she’d remembered, it was too late…”
